W Corporation Limited, an investment company, a successful ODM (original design manufacturer) / OEM (orgiginal equipment manufacturer) for electronic products - is driving its margin-focused business strategy on four fronts: revenue stream, product range, clientele, and geographical reach.
In terms of revenus stream, Home Products and Mobile Products have dominated the Group's earnings in the past few years, but since 2007, Contel has diversified into high-growth segments such as Gaming Products and Automotive Products to power its medium-term expansion.
In order to improve or maintain its profit margin, the Group plans to introduce at least one new products with a strong design and functional differentiation within each of the four revenue streams each year. Tasked with executing the plan is the Group's 100- strong R&D team - which holds nine patents and had won the 2006 China Consumer Electronics Design Awards for the one of its products.
Clientele-wise, W Corp works with large-scale retailers such as Best Buy, Target and Carrefour, and brand owners such as Polaroid and Memorex, as well as major players in the electronic toys segment such as Harmonix Music Systems.
Geographically, North America and Europe remain Contel's largest markets, contribbuting more then 85% of the Group's total revenus. Contel will continue to explore the possibitity of extending its reach into other profitable markets, including largely untapped segments in China.
